Our Global Workers Emily Rezek Greater Europe Mission (France) Mission Focus Currently the majority of my ministry is at the FEU (Foyer Évangélique Universitaire), a non- denominational Christian association for university students. Here we seek to share the gospel with as many students as possible, as well as to disciple and train believers and to connect them to local churches. A challenge for us is to continue to find creative ways to reach out to the 100,000+ students in Lille! But we’ve seen that the university years are often a time when students are more open spiritually and seeking answers to life’s big questions. Pray for us as we interact with these students, and for their hearts to be receptive to the truth. Testimony My mother first introduced me to Christ and began taking me to church at a young age, where I learned that God created me, loved me, and wanted a relationship with me—but that was impossible because of my sin. The only way to be reconciled to God was through Jesus Christ, God made flesh, who paid my debt on the cross and rose again, defeating sin forever! At age 7, after Vacation Bible School, I made the decision to follow Jesus, and I’ve never regretted it! I know that without Christ in my life, I would be a misguided, self-serving, and unloving sinner. I’ve seen God’s faithfulness to me throughout my life, and every day he continues to teach me new truths about his love and purpose for me. He has given me a new life, and my desire is to use this life to honor him. Back to Global Workers

(high school and up) Sunday, June 7 11:15 am | Grace Commons RSVP RSVP by the Friday before Next Steps Statement Of Faith Our Statement of Faith at GCC 1. We believe the sixty-six books of the Bible to be the only inspired, authoritative Word of God, inerrant in the original manuscripts. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21) 2. We believe that there is one God , the Creator, eternally existent in three Persons–Father, Son and Holy Spirit–each having the same essence and attributes. (2 Corinthians 13:14; Matthew 28:19) 3. We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man in indivisible union. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His substitutionary atonement through His shed blood, His death and bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His future bodily return in power and glory. (John 1:1,14; Philippians 2:6-8; 1 Timothy 3:16; Revelation 19:11-16; I Corinthians 15:1-8) 4. We believe the Holy Spirit convicts of sin, regenerates, indwells, baptizes and seals all believers at the moment of their salvation, filling them as they yield to Him with the goal of conforming them to the image of Christ. (Titus 3:5; 1 Corinthians 3:16, 12:13; Ephesians 1:13, 5:18) 5. We believe salvation is a gift of God received through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone and His sacrifice for sin. We believe that a person is justified by grace through faith apart from works and that all true believers have eternal life. Saving faith includes repentance, which is a change of mind about sin and the need for Jesus as Savior. (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:16; I John 5:10-13; Mark 1:15) 6. We believe that the true Church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the Body of Christ of which He is the Head. (Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 1:22-23, 2:19-22) 7. We believe that water baptism and *Communion are ordinances to be observed by the Church during the present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation. (Acts 8:12; 1 Corinthians 11:23-28) 8. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, of the believer to everlasting glory in heaven with God and the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment in hell apart from God. (2 Thessalonians 1:9; Revelation 22:3-5, 20:15; Daniel 12:2) *Communion is open to all who have trusted Christ as Savior whether members of Grace or not and is observed on the first Sunday of each month. Our Commitment G.R.A.C.E I submit myself to the care and the authority of the biblically qualified elders that God has placed over GCC. In joining with GCC, and walking in dependence upon the Holy Spirit, I will strive to do the following: Proclaim Jesus and Pursue Maturity in Him. Grow Spiritually I will pursue a pattern of progressive transformation into the image of Jesus, understanding that spiritual growth is my personal responsibility. John 15:1-17 | 2 Peter 1:3-11 | Ephesians 4:14-15 Reproduce Intentionally I will see God-given potential in others and use my gifts, experiences, and resources to participate in their spiritual development. 1 Corinthians 11:1 | 1 Thessalonians 5:11-15 | 2 Timothy 2:1-7 Advance the Gospel I will leverage my opportunities to live and proclaim salvation by grace through faith in Christ for the forgiveness of sins. Matthew 28:18-20 |Romans 10:13-15 | 1 Peter 3:13-17 Connect in Worship I will unite with the church body, offering my whole self as an act of submission and commitment to the glory of God. Romans 12:1 | 1 Corinthians 12:21-27 |Hebrew 10:19-25, 13:15-17 Engage in Service I will maintain a servant’s heart as I regularly contribute to the body of Christ in spiritual and practical ways. Paris Olympics Art Project Update Doug and Emilee Irwin During the Paris Summer Olympic Games, Emilee Irwin organized an art exhibition. This event provided an opportunity for her to collaborate with other arts leaders in the city, potentially laying the groundwork for future partnerships. The exhibition was part of 'Ensemble 2024,' a multi-faceted project spearheaded by the French National Council for Evangelicals in collaboration with churches and ministries across France. Emilee and her team used the exhibition as a means to share the gospel with both visitors and artists. This initiative also lead to new GEM missionaries joining local ministries in Paris in the future. Take a moment to watch this video update. Greater Europe Mission Mission Focus We are grateful to be a part of a new church plant in Paris. Doug is one of the teaching pastors (with his French partner – Guillaume Bourin) at Église de la Rive Droite (Church of the Right Bank) in southeast Paris. We are currently working with our core team and are looking to open our doors in December 2022/January 2023. Emilee is serving as the Arts Impact Zone leader for GEM missionaries throughout Europe, helping them to make disciples and grow Christ’s church through their unique gifts and friend groups. It is a major blessing to be working with such a dedicated core team. Pray that our young church will continue to glorify God in word and in deed. Testimony Doug's Testimony I was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, but grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. My dad was raised in a practicing Roman Catholic family, while my mom grew up in an Episcopal church. They both stopped going to church in college. When I was 16, my younger brother, Jeff, began attending a Wednesday night youth group rally at the invitation of his friend, where he prayed to receive Christ. The church reached out to my family and came to our home to share the gospel with the rest of us. My parents and younger twin brothers prayed to receive Christ then, but I was skeptical. Several times over the next few months, a college student from the church came over to play basketball and share the gospel with me. I began to see that my sin was great and that I had no ultimate purpose in my life. I asked for God’s forgiveness and asked Jesus to be my Lord and Savior. I had a wonderful youth pastor who discipled me very quickly. I attended a youth camp called Discipleship Now where I experienced a special call to ministry. God led me to continue to pursue this calling and to study the scriptures at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO, where Emilee and I met. After college, we went to Fort Worth, TX, to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Emilee and I sensed a call from the Lord to serve on two short-term teams in 2013 and 2014 to Lille to help Leroy and Debbie Zumack, and since then have felt God leading us long term to serve on a church-planting team in Paris. Emilee's Testimony I was blessed to grow up in a loving Christian home. My parents taught me about Christ’s love from the beginning. I prayed to receive Christ with my mom at home when I was 6. I grew up singing in church and knowing that Jesus died for my sins, but I had a time of real spiritual growth and renewed commitment to living a surrendered life to him the year before I entered college at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO. Doug and I met my freshman year at SBU and were married before my senior year. Doug’s call to ministry was echoed in my life and we have been involved with several ministries, many of them church plants, through the years. We have both felt a call to serve in France as part of a church planting team.God’s not finished with me yet, as I am learning every day what a completely surrendered life is like, but he has shown me that his plans for me are good and that his love for me is greater than I could fathom! Colossians 1:28 & 2:7 At Grace Community Chapel, it is our conviction that discipleship engagement is essential to achieving a growing relationship with Jesus. With this in mind, we offer a network of independent and mutually reinforcing discipleship opportunities that are specifically dedicated to advancing spiritual growth in the context of church community and individual commitment. The Pathways Celebrations Sunday Morning Corporate Worship Celebrations include our Sunday morning corporate worship services. These services, which offer elements of both traditional and contemporary worship experiences, are primarily devoted to congregational singing and the expository teaching of God’s Word. SERVICE TIMES Classes Sunday Morning Adult Discipleship Opportunities Classes are identified by traditional Sunday morning arrangements that are generally larger in size and offer instruction and interaction specific to the Bible and other key topics of spiritual interest. CURRENT OFFERINGS Clusters Sunday and Midweek Adult Discipleship Opportunities As a hybrid of traditional Classes and Communities (small groups), Clusters offer a unique approach to intentional discipleship in which smaller collections of people (generally a maximum of 12-14) gather under a time-limited arrangement of 12-36 weeks depending on the focus of a particular Cluster. Clusters involve an interactive environment that typically requires some out-of-session assignments and a deeper level of engagement. The primary goals of Clusters include promoting personal and collective spiritual growth and equipping that is aimed at advancing discipleship influence. CURRENT OFFERINGS Collectives Midweek Adult Discipleship Opportunities Collectives, as defined by “a cooperative enterprise” (Oxford Dictionary) involve a group of people meeting together in the interests of a unified purpose. Collectives include midweek ministries of various sizes that involve individuals engaging in Bible or topical studies via live instruction or video, prayer and fellowship with the goal of advancing biblical application through individual and “collective” spiritual growth. SEE WHAT'S AVAILABLE Communities Small Group Adult Discipleship Opportunities Communities, which are otherwise known as small groups, represent more of the relational end of our adult discipleship ministry. Clusters Clusters Sunday and Midweek Adult Discipleship Opportunities What is a Cluster? This opportunity will feature a new approach to adult discipleship engagement under the broader title of clusters. By basic definition, clusters involve smaller collections of people (approximately 12) that gather in the interests of advancing personal growth and reproductive discipleship influence. Weekly cluster gatherings generally feature homework assignments, and they prioritize interactive engagement during scheduled meetings. The weekly homework assignments will require a completion time of approximately one hour. Feel free to contact the church office if you have questions. Advancing the Kingdom A Collaborative Journey of Knowing, Growing, and Going The Advancing the Kingdom clusters will include three distinct participation opportunities, with two of these options occurring on Sunday morning during the second or third hour, and the other option occurring on Tuesday evening (women only). Specific times are identified below. All of these clusters will utilize the Rose Guide to Discipleship as the core curriculum. A key structural goal within the Advancing the Kingdom clusters includes mixing individuals who are less seasoned in their faith with those who are further along in their faith journey. In both cases, the idea of learning with the intention to reproduce will include a primary point of emphasis. Those interested in participating in one of the Advancing the Kingdom clusters will incur a $20 expense* (scholarships available as needed) to cover costs associated with full color copies, a binder, and a book that will be utilized to address issues of Christian identity. *Payment can be made electronically at the time of registration or via cash/personal check at the first cluster session. Exploring the Old Testament A Journey of Information and Inspiration September 7, 2025 – May 31, 2026 This class will include three unique parts. In Part One, we gain an understanding of how the 66 books of the Bible came to be. In Part Two, we turn our attention to the Old Testament and begin by constructing a free-hand map of Israel and answer the questions: 1) Where did important events occur? 2) Why did various empires desire to gain control of this area? and 3) Why did God choose this tiny land bridge of geography to bring glory to Himself? In Part Three, we engage in a synopsis of each Old Testament book through exploring key elements such as characters, themes, and important historical details. Through it all, we will discover that God is not full of anger, wrath, and judgment, but rather faithfulness, patience, and love. *A book by the title of Introducing the Old Testament is highly recommended as a supplement to classroom instruction. • CATECHISM | GCC

Catechism Study Anchored in Christ Introduction: The word "catechism" comes from the Greek word κατηχέω (katēcheō), which means "to instruct" or "to teach." Throughout church history, catechisms have been written to instruct new believers in the faith so they can understand what a church believes on major issues. Ultimately, the purpose is to ensure new believers (of all ages) will be able to articulate the faith they believe. What to expect: A typical catechism includes a list of questions and answers. The catechism user is expected to memorize the question and answer. The hope is not to cover every possible element of each doctrine, but that in each question a foundation of sound doctrine can be laid to prepare the believer for maturity. Catechisms can be done by an individual memorizing the questions and answers themselves, or by an instructor (often a parent, pastor, or teacher) asking the question, and the student providing the expected answer. GRACE COMMONS Helping you Pursue Maturity in Him. At Grace Commons, our church library, we’ve created a space where spiritual growth and learning can flourish. Here you’ll find a collection of resources chosen to help you in your pursuit of maturity in Christ. Our shelves feature: Books written by our pastors and ministry leaders – works shaped by prayer, Scripture, and the heartbeat of our own church family. Influential titles from trusted Christian authors – wisdom and insight from voices who have guided believers across the globe. Every book in Grace Commons is carefully selected with one goal in mind: to draw you closer to Jesus and equip you to live out your faith with greater depth and joy. Whether you’re looking for a devotional for daily encouragement, theological works to stretch your understanding, or stories that inspire faith in action, Grace Commons is a place to discover resources that will nurture your walk with Christ. New Arrivals The purpose of this devotional is to explore what makes these core beliefs function. Why does the death of a man, even the God-man, mean that I can be right with God? Why doesn’t the old system of sacrifices and rules function anymore? This study explores the Old Covenants alongside the book of Romans to build depth into the core Christian beliefs, taking the believer beyond “because the Bible says so” into a functional, practical understanding of how their faith works and what is expected of them in response. Readers will examine multiple Scripture passages and answer guiding questions that will help lead them into a deeper understanding of their faith. Copies available in Grace Commons PURCHASE Anthony Ochoa Copies available in Grace Commons Humanity Redeemed By: Anthony Ochoa Humanity Redeemed lays out an essential biblical worldview of mankind, exploring who we are, what went wrong, and how God’s redemptive plan is fulfilled in Jesus Christ. In Him, we not only see who God is but also what it truly means to be human as God intended. By allowing Scripture to shape our worldview, we can respond to these difficult times with consistency, conviction, and hope. PURCHASE Doctrine for the Hungry By: Anthony Ochoa Originally developed as a discipleship manual for a local church, this resource equips God’s people with the doctrinal clarity and discernment they were meant to grow in. Rather than offering all the answers in a reference-style format, this manual presents students with competing doctrinal views and trains them to think carefully, biblically, and humbly about what they believe—and why they reject other positions.
