Biblical Counseling
Who is it For?
Biblical counseling* is available for youth, adult men, or married couples. Youth counseling will be done with another person in the room (who will be held to confidentiality standards) for accountability purposes.
What to Expect
Biblical Counseling is counseling that is directly centered and focused on the Bible to deal with the issues of life. Its focus is discipleship and heart change as developed through obedience to and understanding better God’s word.
Ultimately, the goal is to help you respond to your life circumstances in a way that will please God. The underlying assumption is that God’s word truly is sufficient for life and godliness. Biblical counseling is meant to teach you to live a godly life in response to any life circumstances you may be going through.
Everything will be held in strict confidence, except where, in the counselor’s judgment, there is a biblical and/or legal requirement to involve others (e.g. criminal activity).
Counseling can be for grief, sexual sin, addictions, marital problems, depression, etc.
*Counselor is not licensed or certified as a psychotherapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, mental health professional, marriage and family therapist, or social worker, and is not acting in such capacities.
