Testimony
I was born in St. Charles, MO where my family attended Grace. At the age of four, I accepted Jesus into my heart. However, I did not fully know what that meant or what a real relationship with Jesus should look like. As I grew up, I was involved in youth group at Grace throughout middle school and high school. My freshman year of high school I was baptized and desired to live out my faith more intentionally. After high school, I moved to Columbia, MO to attend the University of Missouri for college. I would attribute most of my spiritual growth and understanding to my time in college. I joined a campus church, The Rock, and really figured out what it meant to live out my faith for myself. Throughout my time at Mizzou and the Rock I gained skills in church leadership, discipleship, and evangelism. I also went on my first overseas mission experience with the Rock, which jumpstarted my passion for other cultures and bringing the Gospel of Jesus to people who have never heard about Him before.
Calling into Ministry
I went on my first overseas missions experience to Honduras with my campus church, the Rock, my freshman year of college (2016). This experience showed me that I was capable of bringing the Gospel of Jesus to the world. Several years later I took the global missions’ class, Perspectives, in Columbia, MO. This class totally changed my heart for the world and my understanding of God’s desire to see all peoples come to know Him. Last summer (2019), I spent 3 months in South Asia learning about what long-term ministry among an unreached people group would look like. I fell in love with the locals and the culture. God broke my heart for the spiritual brokenness of the people there. Most have never heard the name of Jesus and most likely never will. God has called all of us to be a part of his global purpose, and this led me to pursuing a job with Café 1040.
Passion for Ministry
When I returned from South Asia, I reflected on my next steps and desired to continue to pursue global missions intentionally. I recently accepted a position with Café 1040 as a Student Mobilizer. I am super excited to be joining Café 1040’s team in mobilizing throughout Missouri and the Midwest. I think the Lord will use this as a strategic next step for me as I continue to prepare and grow in my understanding of God’s heart for the world. There are billions of people who have no access to the story of Jesus, and I want to help bring Jesus to them! My desire is to eventually move overseas and live among these people, but I am excited to share my experiences and build awareness about unreached people groups, as my next step. I am also excited to continue partnering with Grace and connecting with the community here!
