To and For the Men of

Grace Community Chapel

Our purpose is to support methods and programs that will reach, build, and strengthen personal friendships and lift the spiritual well-being among men in, and around, GraceCommunity Chapel.

Men of Grace are meeting every second Saturday of the month, for a morning breakfast with fellowship, bible study/reflection, and prayer.  This is a great time, held in the Hope house, and you will not be alone yawning around 7AM with a cup of coffee in hand.  Can't forget the good cooking here too.

Our Thursday evening bible study for men is somewhat "under construction" at the moment.  Study time parallels the children’s Awana program (from 6:30 to 8:30 PM).  Tom Richards and Dave Arnold are trying to get this going again.  It is held at either the Hope House, at one of our homes, or wherever it works.  If you are a dad bringing your kids to Awana, why not consider increasing and sharing your faith on Thursday evenings too.  To connect with Tom or Dave, please see us at second service (we usually are there ushering), or call the church office.

Other opportunities for weekly men's bible study, usually at a restaurant in the morning or at lunch, is also with the St.Charles “Ministry to Men” ministry.  See their website: www.ministrytomen.net.

In addition to study, we also sponsor events throughout the year that are intended to strengthen and lift the spirits of men and their family or friends, such as:

THE LORD OF HEAVEN & EARTH CAMPOUT – During the Spring

GCC Spring LOHE CampOut Men and Families
Klondike has a beautiful small lake for catch and retrieve fishing
Hey, when we camp, we always camp with great chow!
At least once a year we have been sponsoring a tent camp-out for Dads and their families and friends at a nearby county park, usually at Klondike Park, in south St.Charles county.  From the fun and fellowship of being outdoors, with hiking-biking-fishing, to great camp-fire cooking, and if the skies permit, a view of the heavens with telescopes.  We look forward to offering this weekend event every Spring.  This year's event will be on May 2, the first Saturday of the month of May.  Registration can be made by contacting Tom Richards or the church office.  Current church Dad's, who are coming, are encourage to invite other Dad's who maybe interested.

BIKING ON THE KATY TRAIL - We are looking into the possibility of a trail ride for Dad's and their family or friends.  More details forthcoming.

PAINTBALL CHALLENGE – This year this event will be done in coordination with the Youth Ministry.

GOLF TOURNAMENT – Fall

GCC 2007 Mens Golf Tournament Happy 3some
A great time of fellowship for those who like to get out and chase that little white ball.  While our tournament is a modest one, held at Pheasant Run Golf Course (an Executive Par 3), that offers carts on concrete paths, sandtraps, and excellent greens within a challenging course, we also add a BBQ banquet afterwards with an inspirational chat and prizes.  This makes for an afternoon and evening of fun and fellowship.

THANKSGIVING DAY BREAKFAST

A wonderful way to serve and give the families and friends of Grace Community the energy they need to wake up to Christ on this day of Thanksgiving to Him.  We work together preparing and serving a tasty pancake and bacon breakfast that is offered just prior to an informal Holiday service held in the sanctuary.   This beats sleeping in or watching parades on TV anyday!

PARTICIPATION IN MINISTRY TO MEN SEMINARS

Base on the topics and need, we both support seminars and presentations here at Grace, and participate and promote those held in the Saint Charles County area by other churches and Men's Ministries.

MORE TO TELL and SHARE

There will be more events for sure.   Watch for announcements over the year on this website and in the church service Bulletin.  Ideas and suggestions are always welcome as well.  God Bless.
