In this class the students are expected to start with little to no experience on an instrument. Beginner class is one hour long and held as a group, although we sometimes practice in sectionals too. Students will learn fundamentals on their instruments, how to read music, counting, rhythms, and playing in a group setting. Student should expect to practice 15-20 minutes a day, 4-5 days a week. Classes are held for 55 minutes at 1st Baptist Church of St. Peters, on Mid-Rivers Mall Drive. |

Concert Band |

This class is for the more experienced players (3 years experience or more). Here students increase their technical skills and play increasingly more complex music. Classes last 1 ½ hours and will be held at Grace Community Chapel in St. Peters, on Mexico Road. As the music will be more challenging, you can expect your child to practice 20-30 minutes, 4-5 days a week to supplement the class. Classes meet every Thursday. |

Swing Band |
This is an advanced ensemble which will emphasize big band music. Here the proficient students will learn a new style of performance. Since swing music is more difficult and instrumentation more limited, auditions are needed for placement in this class. Practice expected would be a minimum of that listed for concert band. Classes normally meet Thursdays at Grace Community Chapel of St. Peters, on Mexico Road. |
