			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span><strong><font size="2">THE PROSTITUTE AT THE FEET OF JESUS</font>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /> <font size="2">The Bible is full of incredible stories of broken people being made whole through God&#39;s merciful and healing touch, but it is hard to find a story more powerful than the sinful woman who anoints the feet of Jesus.&nbsp; We don&#39;t know that much about her, other than that the Bible tells us she &quot;lived a sinful life.&quot;&nbsp; Whatever that means (it is widely believed that she may have been a prostitute), we do know this about her: She was completely broken and overwhelmed by the significance of her sin.&nbsp; And in her deep brokenness, she falls at the feet of Jesus and does one of the most humble and beautiful things imaginable: She wets His feet with her tears, dries them with her hair and kisses them, then anoints His feet with costly perfume.&nbsp;<span id="more-611"></span>Now the Bible tells us that this sacred scene unfolds in the home of a Pharisee whom Jesus was eating dinner with.&nbsp; In other words, she was surrounded by people who despised her passionately and judged her harshly.&nbsp; Except one.&nbsp; Full of deep compassion for her, Jesus tenderly and lovingly speaks forgiveness and peace into her life.&nbsp; The woman who came into the house a broken, sinful prostitute left the house a pure, righteous, and spiritually-whole follower of Jesus.&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /> Right now you may be saying to yourself, &quot;Well, how does this relate to me?&nbsp; I&#39;ve never done something as bad as a prostitute.&quot;&nbsp; The truth is, we&#39;re all sinners, and whether you like it or not, that makes us no different from the prostitute in this story.&nbsp; The only thing that might make us different from her is how broken we are by our sin.&nbsp; Sadly, many Christians are often numb to their sin, so on the outside they might say they&#39;re sorry for their sin, but on the inside there is no real brokenness or desire to repent.&nbsp; Instead of falling at the feet of Jesus in sorrow for their sin, they flippantly throw up a quick prayer asking for God&#39;s forgiveness.&nbsp; If you know in your heart that this describes you, then go to God in prayer right now and ask Him to forgive you for not taking your sin seriously.&nbsp; Ask Him to give you a deep brokenness for your sin that leads to repentance and humility.&nbsp; And finally, ask Him to give you a hunger and thirst for righteousness.&nbsp; The work God did in the heart of the prostitute transformed her life, and He <em>can</em> and <em>will</em><strong> </strong>do the same work in your heart.&nbsp; Fall at the feet of Jesus today!&nbsp; </font><span><br /> <font size="2"><strong><br /> GO DEEPER: Luke 7:36-50, Ephesians 2:4-5</p>
