Graduates:  If you were to give the chapter of your life that was High School a one-word title, you might choose words like Fun, Busy, Challenging, Formative, or maybe even Awkward.  Now, as you’re about to start a new chapter of life called College, I would like to save you the trouble of having to name this new chapter yourself by suggesting a name for it: OFTEN.  OFTEN, you say?  What kind of title is that for such an important chapter of life?  Your concern is certainly fair, so let me explain.  When you get to college, you should…
1.) Spend time in God’s Word OFTEN
- College will be challenging at times.  Stay in God’s Word to stay spiritually strong.

2.) Retreat into the quiet of God’s presence OFTEN - College will be hectic and noisy.
Be still before God and let your soul be refreshed.
3.) Connect with your family OFTEN - They love you dearly and will be a major source of wisdom, encouragement, and joy for you.

4.) Meet with godly friends for encouragement and accountability OFTEN
- Strong friends will help you stay on track spiritually!
5.) Serve others in love OFTEN
- Serving others will get your focus off yourself, bless your life with purpose, and give you the opportunity to make a difference for God's Kingdom.
6.) Take breaks, be silly, and have fun OFTEN
- It’s important that you stop being so serious for awhile.  Relax and have fun to stay sane and happy!
As you can see, this is why I think OFTEN should be the title of the College chapter of your life!  In closing, I’d like to leave you with some other things from Psalm 37:3-7
that you should do OFTEN
Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him…

Congratulations, Class of 2008!

We love you, we’re proud of you, and most importantly, we are praying for you!  May God bless you richly as you seek Him OFTEN!
