One of the great things about the new year is that it's kind of like a clean slate. A "fresh start" if you will. So what do we do? We make all these "resolutions" that will make our lives better in some way. For instance, one of my resolutions is to lose weight and get back into shape. Now I know I can do it, but it's going to take effort on my part. I have to stop being lazy and exercise, and I have to be disciplined with what I eat. Now if I we're to poll all of the Christian teenagers in the good ‘ol US of A, I would be willing to bet that one of the most common new year's resolutions would be "to have more and better quiet times with God." Now this is a great resolution, and one that all of us could benefit from, so let me just say this: You can do it. I know that you are super busy with life, school, work, and activities, but there is always time in the day for your time with God. It's going to take effort and discipline, but you can do it. Get up 30 minutes earlier; skip that TV show or video game session; spend less time blogging or IMing; whatever. The point is, God loves you desperately and wants you to spend some great quality time with Him. You love God and want to spend time with Him too, so just do it. Can it really be that simple, you ask? Yes! Life is crazy busy, but you can push pause and fall into the arms of your Father.
To help you have more and better quiet times with God, please pick up a Youth Walk (YW) devotional today. Our student ministries program is providing these to all Grace students free of charge, so please take one!
