Introduction

Examples abound of men and women of the Bible who followed after God. We read of those people and try to emulate their righteous acts. In doing so, however, we fail to look at their miscues, which can serve as lessons for us on behaviors to avoid.

I've chosen a number of Bible characters whose conduct at times surely is not to be copied. Most of these people, although standing out as exemplary figures, failed at times to serve as models of good behavior. Their shortcomings, although typically human, can be instructional for us today. For that reason, without doubt, they are included in the biblical accounts. I divide the discussion into two major parts: Old Testament (OT) and New Testament (NT) characters.

You will read of only one person at a time (or a handful when warranted) to keep discussion length manageable. Check this website each week to read a new account.
